Another shot of beautiful English Bay Beach . . . one of the popular resident and tourist areas of the British Columbia city known for its spectacular views of mountains and the ocean.

This pagoda sits in the middle of Dr. Sun Yat Sen Gardens, located in Vancouver's large and vibrant Chinatown.

Between the financial district of downtown, and Stanley Park, lies the Coal Harbour area of Vancouver.  This part of the city is popular for its multitude of highrise condominiums with views overlooking the harbour, Stanley Park and the Northshore Mountains.

Formerly a dirty body of water fronting some of the city's industrial areas, Vancouver's False Creek has been transformed into one of the city's favourite waterways.  It is home to many marinas, tourist attractions and yacht clubs.

Sunset Beach is located where False Creek meets English Bay.   In this photo, the colourful tents shown on the Kitsilano shore are part of the city's annual "Bard on the Beach" Shakesperian Festival.

Located on the former site of Vancouver's "Expo 86" World's Fair, Yaletown has been changed from bare industrial land to the site of million dollar residences high atop modern condominiums.  

Downtown Vancouver has some very interesting architecture.  Known as the "City of Glass," Vancouver's downtown buildings reflect the stunning views from every vantage point.

Vancouver's West End is known for its scenic beauty, home of the city's gay community, and for its numerous festivals and events.   Because of the number of high-rise residential buildings here, the West End has one of the highest population densities in Canada.

ENGLISH BAY

No summer visitor to Vancouver misses a spectacular English Bay sunset.   Here, the evening sun falls gracefully past the calm water, behind the mountain tops to give a beautiful glow to the summer sky.  As well, ocean-going ships docked in the Bay cast their own shimmering lights upon the water.
